A NEW VISION is now located on the westside of Portland, Oregon, off Highway 217 in Beaverton. We offer complete vision care for the entire family. Dr. Stone specializes in optometric vision therapy and vision rehabilitation for children and adults. We provide the highest quality in comprehensive vision examinations, frame and lens selections, and contact lens fittings. The staff of A NEW VISION is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to all our patients. Our goal is to educate and advise while helping to meet each individual’s vision needs.
Our office is one of the very few in the Portland area that provides developmental vision exams and optometric vision therapy. We welcome children of all ages, both for general eye care and vision therapy. We offer a full service optical dispensary with a wide variety of frames and sunglasses from which to choose. We offer the most current contact lens types available, including bifocal contacts and lenses that correct for astigmatism and other hard-to-fit conditions. Our doctors are on most insurance panels in the Portland area, and our staff is well equipped and experienced to assist you with any insurance related questions.
Optometrists (OD) are trained vision specialists who perform refractions to determine proper glasses prescriptions, detect and diagnosis ocular disease, andexamine and treat the functional performance of your vision and how your brain interprets what it sees (i.e., visual perception). Ophthalmologists (MD) focus on surgery and treatment of ocular disease. They can perform refractions but are typically not, however, trained in functional vision performance.
Your eye health is of upmost importance to us in addition to your visual performance. A thorough eye exam is the first line of defense for identifying many diseases at an early stage, when symptoms are minor or not yet present. As your primary eyecare specialist, Optometrists are trained to diagnose ocular diseases and infections, including glaucoma, retinal detachment, and cataracts. Optometrists in the state of Oregon are licensed to prescribe medications for ocular infections such as conjunctivitis ("pink eye"). We work closely with many Ophthalmologists to whom we regularly refer patients when surgical intervention or treatment of retinal issues is required. Our doctors also co-manage cataract and laser refractive surgeries with Ophthalmologists.

We have noticed a huge improvement with our son during and after completing his vision therapy with A New Vision. He is reading at a much higher level, his grades have improved, his confidence has increased, and homework is not taking so long. His improvements are life changing! Thank you so much!
